Formatting Settings

Formatting settings let you configure default text formatting options for new documents.

Accessing Formatting Settings

1. Click on Settings in the sidebar
2. Select Formatting from the settings menu

Default Binder Documents Formatting

This setting controls what formatting mode new binder documents use by default.

Normal Mode

Standard document formatting with paragraphs, headings, lists, and other common text elements.

Best for:

• General writing
• Notes and outlines
• Non-screenplay content

Screenplay Mode

Specialized formatting for screenwriting with industry-standard elements like scene headings, action, character names, dialogue, and more.

Best for:

• Screenplays and teleplays
• Stage plays
• Any script-based content

Changing the Default

1. Open Formatting Settings
2. Click on the dropdown next to "Default Binder Documents Formatting"
3. Select either Normal or Screenplay
4. The setting saves automatically
